Vina Del Mar, Chile

Just a few pictures from Vina Del Mar, Chile.  The night shots are from the balcony of my hotel room, and the view is about all it has going for it.  The old pier is pretty cool, the crane dates back to the 30's.  It was a tourist attraction for a while, but was shut down a while back.

Raised Bed Garden

Here we are building a raised bed garden from alfalfa bales we bought from a local farmer.  They were $7.50 ea for first cut hay, and each bed uses 8.  We built one today, and have enough materials for one more.  The soil is a mix of aged cow and horse manure, and kitchen scrap compost.  In the background is the frame of our hoophouse, which has been in the making for quite some time.
